L’Oreal true match Super Blend-able foundation in soft sable, C6. I have had one of the best experiences with this product! It does everything a foundation should do and holds up to my oily/combination skin. The following items are a part of a criteria that details the makeup's performance:
Coverage:This foundation has build-able coverage, which is great because I usually put on three to four other products and it doesn't weigh down my skin. It covers up minor blemishes quite nicely with just a thin layer, and doesn't feather easily after a couple of hours. Best of all the coverage looks very natural; I don't have to worry about there being an obvious difference between my skin and my makeup. I really like how natural it look because I can also use it as a concealer on days when I don't want to apply all over foundation.
Texture:The texture most adequately described as smooth. It's got more fluidity to it than other foundations that I've tried, but it also blends better. I've tried applying it with a sponge, brush, and with just my finger, and I can say without a doubt that using your fingers to dab this product on lightly is the best choice if you want to improve the appearance of the makeup. Using a brush or sponge can cause a transfer of the tool's texture onto your skin, so I don't recommend it!
Oil Control:This foundation lasted through a ten hour day for me, in both cold and hot settings. Even when I did sweat, the makeup stayed and gave my skin a diffused glow-y property. Very nice! As for oil regulation, I didn't have to reapply a powder on top of it mid-day, given I applied a powder immediately after applying the foundation.
Smell:I noticed a slightly talc-like smell with my makeup, but it was hardly noticeable after five minutes of contact with the air. It wasn't unpleasant or overpowering, it was just there; like you smell it and then you don't anymore.
Color Accuracy:The shade that I got only matched my skin perfectly in the Winter time. I have a darker gold-toned skin coloring and the soft sable that matched me in the cooler season did not compliment my skin as much in the summertime. When buying this product, one may find that their foundation to be misinterpreted by the color meter on the site, but it's also important to take into consideration that monitor color settings can not be as accurate as trying and buying in person. My recommendation is that you shop around until you find a store that carries a range of shades that are all similar to the one you want from this line, most drug stores will have them. Additionally, Ulta and Target currently carry this product and there are up to 33 different shades, so there is really something in this line for almost everyone.
Last minute tips:I recommend using a primer underneath this foundation. I also recommend using a setting powder of pressed foundation of the same color, especially if you use an applicator to put it on; If you use this product with a bb cream, be aware that the titanium dioxide, a sunscreen component, will give you a whitish glow, especially in photos, so it's a good idea to either use a darker bb, given you can find one, use a foundation one semitone darker than your skin, or not put on the bb cream at all. Overall I give this product 5/5 stars I'd buy it again if I was looking for a lower end brand of makeup That offered high-end performance.
