This another little milestone on my journey into a brave new world of lip color. It's a striking brown hue that, in my mind, hails complimentariliy to royal hues. It's none other than Covergirl's Lip Perfection Lipstick, I picked up as a gift actually. The person who gave this item to me was dismayed at what they perceived to be their inability to flaunt earthy lip tones (they muddle her complexion, her words not my own), and in so believing, gifted the item to me. A very lucky acquisition on my part! I've secretly been very curious about the whole line, but not without noted reservation. New lip color always makes me nervous, especially anything that isn't red or pink; still here we are with this lip color:
Like I said, anything that's not red and not pink makes me nervous. It always seems to much not to adorn my lips with such vernacular hues.. Outlandish even? Still, I do like the depth of the brown and I would even go so far as to say that the lip color carries shimmer glints of mica in it, meticulously placed so that the lips are properly coated in both parts glitter and the lipstick itself. It can even take on a coppery red hue in the right light!
Durability.
This lip color is actually very creamy in comparison to other lipsticks that I've tried recently. It's soft and spreads over the lips easily, but it will catch in any crevices present on the mouth, so exfoliation, hydration, and moisture are very obviously going to make a difference in the way that it, or any lipstick for that matter, applies to the lips.
Price.
In my area, this item goes for 7.59 and up. But if it is purchased online from a bidding and commerce site, and this is going to depend upon the shade you get too, the price can easily be half of the aformentioned rate or lower.

Packaging.
Since the person who bought mine got it from CVS, it had one of those impossible to peel off stickers on it. You know, the one that says something to the effect of 'if you see this seal and you are not in an authorized CVS store, contact your local CVS and report it immediately,' in so many words I'm sure. Other than that, the packaging is sleek and has a bit of an elegant air about it. I also like that the color is sealed in a plastic preview port on the bottom of the tube, it makes swatching in store a less stressful experience ( and I do recommend swatching ahead of time- the colors may not look the say 'in' as they do 'on').
Overall.
I want to award four stars for this product and recommend checking out other shades from the collection. I recommend checking out Tempt, Coquette, Divine, and Heavenly!
