Well now I do believe that is has been quite awhile since I last posted for face of the day, and with a kinda lame reason, but it's my own and I, uh, own it: I hit a briar patch in my good skin game and didn't want to bog down my skin with product. My skin is finally coming out of it, so I was feeling brave enough to do a post!
I recently had the privilege of working with Sinduge.com, and in doing so, I received some products to review. The pictures of those items can be found here, as well as the write-up in it's entirety. The products I received were really lovely; in fact I like them so much that I'm wearing most of them in this picture! here's what I used:
Pre-Makeup Regimen:
Somme Institute 5 Step Skincare Regimen, minus sunscreen
Extra Virgin Coconut Oil
Face:
Rimmel Fix and Perfect Primer 002
L'oreal Tru Match Super Blendable Makeup in Creme Cafe (W7)
E.L.F. Makeup Setting Mist
L'oreal True Match Super Blendable Powder in Classic Tan (N7)
Senna Highlighting Pact and Loose Powder
Lips:
Senna Shimmer Gloss
Eyes:
Lancome Hypnose Star Mascara
Wet n' Wild Coloricon Eyeliner Pencil in Brown
Pixi Eyeshadow in Champagne
The reason that I used coconut oil on my skin before my primer is because that particular primer is very dry and doesn't spread well, but I used it to conceal the dark circles under my eyes and cancel out the other dark shadows on my face because it's more subtle than using a concealer for that purpose. The foundation I used was not the correct tone, regardless of whether or not it's obvious here; it was a suggestion that I'd been long sitting on, but I know that I'm not warm toned. Alas, I still caved and bought a warm foundation, and alas it was a misfire.
Oh well, I guess I can come off that suggestion more gainfully enlightened than I was at in the first place. Other than that, I used the highlighter on my cheeks and the bridge of my nose, not the tip. that's shiny because it's a normal thing for me, I suppose. Now, the routine with my lips and eyes was to keep all the makeup as subtle as possible: I wanted to create a "no makeup" look. All in all I would have to say that this is a very good first try and I'm looking forward to creating more looks with the products sent to me by Sindulge!
Thanks for coming by and linking up with the Not Quite There Yet link up! Hope you can make it back next week too! :)
