Montagne and Jeunesse Green tea & Ginger Peel-off Masque

A couple of months back I received a free sample of Montagne and Jeunesse's skin care masks via influenster. This initial encounter sparked my interest in the other products that this company carries, one thing lead to another and now here I am, wrists deep in transparent yellow goo that promises to keep my skin feeling supple, conditioned, and problem free!

Packaging.
I'm not a fan of the packaging; it's horrible and worst of all bad. In addition to that, it's perforated edge (located in the upper right of the sachet) takes some fiddling, so I recommend just cutting it to make your life easier. If you can, squeeze all the contents of the pack to the bottom before doing this, because this stuff is very messy and very runny. Chances are you won't be using the whole packet so for storage after using it, wipe the opening with a damp cloth and fold the pack over, securing the crease with a bag clip.
Application.
Use a spatula. Use it, and be glad you took my advice. This stuff has a glue-like consistency so if you try to just wipe it on something else, it will create a sticky residue that, as it dries can become quite a nuisance. Also it's a good idea to avoid getting it into your hair or eyes, it burns!
Smell.
The package says ginger and green tea, but that is not what it smells like. It has more of an aroma reminiscent of gardenias. That's just proves that one shouldn't assume that a product will smell like the derivatives it contains, I guess. I think that it would have been great if the mask did smell like ginger, but I can't imagine that it would be a very flattering smell considering all the other things that are in the mask.
Results.
Montagne and Jeunesse Green tea & Ginger Peel-off Masque

After fiddling with the packaging and struggling to pull this off (admitting to my own fault here because I didn't put enough on), I wasn't very please enthused about 'peeling' it off, especially when the edges didn't come with my fingers. There was a lot of residue left over on my skin but I expected that. The feeling after the remnants were cleansed from my skin were not those of a refreshed complexion, so I found myself cleansing with my Obagi over top of my results.
Durability.
The formula used for this peel off mask was a bit unimpressive. I'm by no means an experienced mixologist or even a licensed skin care or cosmetic professional for that matter, but I will say from my experience as both a consumer and enthusiast that this product can and most likely will get better in the future, with experimentation like this. It could even be that my skin is very resistant, so don't knock it until you've tried it, that's all I have to say for now.
Price.
Quite a few mass retail stores like Walmart, Target, and Walgreens carry M & J Products for under 2.00USD. I've even been able to find these neat little packs at Winco for 1.20USD!
Ingredients.
Aqua(Purified water), Polyvinyl alcohol, PPG-1-PEG-9 lauryl glycol ether, Sodium citrate, Propylene glycol, Parfum(Fragrance), Fresh lemon, Glycerin, Aloe barbadensis (Aloe vera) leaf juice, Camellia sinensis (Green tea) leaf extract, Panax ginseng root extract, Oenothera biennis(Evening primrose)flower extract, Zingiber officinale (Ginger) root extract, Algae, Fucus vesiculosus, Maris sal, Citric acid, Butylphenyl methylpropional, Benzyl salicylate, Benzyl alcohol, Dehydroacetic acid, CI 19140 (Yellow 5)
Tips.
If you want a quick overall peel where the whole mask comes off in one piece, add extra to the edges of the mask after allowing the first layer to dry for about five minutes.
Overall.
3/5 stars, Better masks can be found elsewhere for peel offs without a doubt. I love their other masks but this one needs some improvement.
