It's finally,
finally here! After a three week trial of Hydroxatone's AM/PM
anti-wrinkle complex, we're just about ready to dish the deets! The
product arrived three weeks ago and has been on a test run ever
since; I don't like to do reviews for such products with out giving
my skin at least a week to react to it. For makeup, I don't worry so
much about this considering it doesn't sit on my skin for very long,
but skincare is meant for this very purpose so I always give my skin
three weeks at most to either adapt or reject a product. That being
said, Let's get started with the latest review:
Packaging.
Well, it comes in a box. The box is a glossy silver/blue tone, and has a sleek look. The container itself is a beveled jar with an inlay compartment, which suggests that there is more in the container than what may actually be the case. It's very similar in design to Missha's super aqua snail renewal container.
Application.
It'd be best to ladle out the product with a small spatula, otherwise use clean hands! The product comes in a jar and cross contamination can lessen the shelf life of any product. When I put this one, both in the morning and in the evening, I get a pearl size amount and spread it on dampened skin. The hyaluronic acid does a good job of conditioning my skin overnight, and it also is a good source of moisture in conjunction with my primer during the day. I like that this complex doesn't dry out my skin or bog it down with too much oil, but I like it even more now that I know my makeup doesn't get oily or cakey after a long day with this product underneath it.

Smell.
I really like that
this product doesn't have an overwhelming cocoa or Shea butter smell
to it considering it contains both of those components. It's a smell
that I've always associated with Palmer's products, but one that is
usually common for other products containing either of the two items.
That doesn't mean there is not smell at all though, only that you'd
have to stick your nose in the pot to smell anything (which I just
did).
Results.
This product has
grown on me. I'll admit that I wasn't turned onto the idea of using
an anti-wrinkle complex on my skin at first; I don't have any visible
wrinkles, so I thought it was unnecessary to use any preventative
skin care. One thing I will say that I've learned while using this
product is that preventative skincare only works if you do, so to
speak. Since there were no wrinkles for the product to work its magic
on, I didn't think there'd even be a noticeable result. After about a
week I noticed that my post breakout scarring and recovery time had
been reduced by half, and after three weeks, I realized that my skin
tone was beginning to improve. I don't worry about preventing my skin
from scarring so much because it has always been this way, like
that's my skin's M.O. But this product works really, really well for
improving the appearance of damaged skin without causing additional
comedones. So I will say that I'm honestly very impressed with this
anti-wrinkle complex, not only that, but that I'd recommend trying
anti-wrinkle formulations for skin that scars or gets discolored from
acne.

Tips.
Using it just after
a wash when skin is dampened and pores are open is a good idea.
Overall.
5/5 stars. For my
first anti-wrinkle cream, I really love the formulation. it's creamy
like a lotion without leaving a waxy/oily coating on my skin, it
conditions my skin without clogging my pores, and it washes away
easily. Plus, If you have some dire concern that your skin is being
damaged by the sun, this product has SPF. It's a definite repurchase
from me, and I would say it's a good first purchase. Have you tried
anything else by Hydroxatone? Let us know, @Cloud9Kollektiv on
