Style 411: If the Shoe Fits.

History Of Athletic Shoes brought to you by Schuler Shoes and New Balance Twin Cities

You don't have to be a shoe fanatic, or even very invested in the fashion industry to understand the importance of a good pair of kicks. they can be the maker or breaker of your mood and even affect your overall health. This infographic titled, 'comfort shoes for men and women history' delves into the history of the shoe and provides some very interesting blips about their evolutionary path up to modern times. As you may have already noted, things get pretty interesting by the roaring twenties. Chuck Taylor's converse have become a preferred household brand and expanded to have an internationally prominent presence.
Among the other big brands, Adidas, Nike, New Balance, and Reebok have had similar success to report, expanding their product repository to include more designs, different products, and even some popular offshoots. They went from offering shoes that had fundamentally basic support and design to shoes that now accommodate every size, shape and width in a period of less than a century. All that innovation has been noted, not only by consumers such as ourselves, but by our friends at Schuler's Shoe, who carry a broad assortment of shoes for men, women, and children's shoes. They even have in house services for local that include a free foot screening. It really doesn't matter what type of shoe you fancy because they've got a bit of everything here (seriously, when is the last time that you heard someone use the word clogs to refer to their shoes? It's magnificent, the proper pseudonyms in tact and all, we're eye's a very lovely pair right now that would match up nicely with my birthday sweater in taupe). Before I talk you out of visiting for yourself, I'll stop here; In the mean time, check them out and feel free to share your finds by commenting!

"One of a kind chiffon dress with a one a drape over the right side and faux leather buckle strap on the opposite. Faux leather patch on the side and has an underlining inside."

A combination too perfect to break up: It may not be the best choice in terms of warmth this season, but it is one of the best in terms of style! We're all in favor for a pair of Ray Bans' finest, a nice hooded mantle, and a classy, upscale up-do to complete the look! As all good things come to an end, this concludes the first of this week's shop love teaser! More on that next day~

Shop Love: Teaser (2/5)

"In every femme-fatale’s repertoire, you will find a double-take inducing curve hugging dress, crimson hued lipstick, and the most dangerous weapon of all, a pair of killer stiletto heels. Alone, this gorgeous Stiletto Platform Pump by Steve Madden is a force to be reckoned with. Six towering inches of heel do wonders to your physique, while the platform ensures all eyes are on you."
This is one of those pairs of shoes that you wear when your not in for the long haul.. The very same one all girls end up wearing for the long haul, of course! For most of us it's that pair of shoes that sits at the back of our closet because we're at a loss for an appropriate time to wear it; that, and wearing stilettos is an endurance sport to which we may not be all that familiar. For the more fearless fashionista, this heel is, and always will be, an item that is approached only with meaningful, premeditated purpose (and copious amounts  of aspirin). For us lower level divas, this most attractive feature will reel us in on our tushes (frequent stumbles lead to at least one fall in every girl's stiletto career): It just makes your legs look so damn good! It's a pair of shoes with a perfect, wear-me-with-anything color and with the right attitude about coordination, it can be the finishing touch to even the most elaborate looks. Well, for now we'll dream that we own these, but until we do, we're gonna bring this segment of shop love to a close..

Cloud Nine Coordinates: On-the-job looks
While there is no way to play down a high-caliber dress like the one pictured to the left, there is an endless number of ways to make it stack up to any daily (or nightly) situation. This set is meant to be an office or meeting friendly coordinate that accentuates the tone of a slim build, or accentuates the curve of an hourglass figure. Complete the look with your favorite pair of maryjane or a workable dupe, but avoid pointed/sqaure toes.

And the mystery shop is..

 "

Who's Tess?

Tess is, in many ways, your typical twenty-something girl. She loves movies, tennis, sushi, her dog Hank and her hometown of Baltimore - and most of all, she loves clothes. Since she can remember, she has spent hours poring over fashion sites and magazines to carefully dissect what designers are showing and celebrities are wearing, and she firmly believes that the thrill one gets from wearing a new dress is the best mood elevator out there.
But Tess had a problem. For years, when she had nearly succeeded in putting together a perfect look - perhaps an outfit that mixed a timeless investment piece with a trendier item or a cheeky vintage find - she found herself getting 'tripped' up in the same place: what to do with her woefully, inescapably bare feet. Wearing an 11, she was unable to find shoes in her size that met her aesthetic standards; the suggestions of salespeople to try something in a men's or comfort style met with her rightful indignation.
Fortunately, Tess refused to settle for these sub-par options and in 2005, she enlisted her mother to help her found Barefoot Tess. Their mission was, and is, to provide the best in footwear - be it a $15 flip-flop or an $800 boot - to large-footed, fashion-conscious women everywhere. Tess' love of fashion has never been about how much something costs, what size it is or who designed it. It's about style, and style shouldn't stop at size 10."

Barefoottess.com is a boutique shoe shop specializing in sizes 10 and up.  They cater to the tastes of every avid fashionista's preference and in past years, they've been catching the eyes of everyone from Instyle magazine to splendora.com. But you don't have to take our word for it, visit their PR page and have a look. Ladies, if you've ever had to put a pair of shoes back because they were too small for you (and we hope you weren't really wearing them; that can cause problems with age!) look no further- Tess has go you covered every step of the way! Well here's to part two of shop love, tune in next monday for the next shop love segment~

Here's to another great Fall buy! These shoes are functional, fab, and full sized for your convenience. If you're willing to ignore the wait of shipping, these babies are only a daydream away from being in you hot little hands.. Since this is technically the last day of shop love for the week, we'll be releasing the final teaser later today, so stick around for the finale~
